Monique Tregenza

Monique Tregenza’s  works reference the hidden or obscured, the unclear and inexplicit. Exploring the miniature, her works seek to represent that which is unknown, imagery often covered by a kind of veil, obscuring the original forms. With her delicate sensibility towards the visual and textural qualities of materials, each work is assembled intuitively, yet subtly drawing reference to particular topical issues. The sombreness of many of her works ask for self-reflection, and as you engage with the forms you become more aware of your surroundings, and of your own vulnerability as a viewer.
